The National Photographic Society (hereafter referred to as The NPS) binds its members by the Rules of Membership, Code of Conduct and Terms and Conditions below.

  • Members of The NPS agree that at all times that their membership is current that they will abide by the code of conduct.
  • During the course of their membership The NPS may at its discretion revoke a membership for any breach of the rules or code of conduct.  This decision will be subject to appeal by a selection of Regional Officers.
  • Membership is non refundable.  Once a member has joined The NPS their membership will run for the duration of one year unless revoked by The NPS.  A member may cancel at any time but their fee for the current year will at no time be returned.
  • Memberships renew automatically on the anniversary of joining in the case of annual membership or monthly on the same day if a monthly plan is in force.  To cancel membership of The NPS you should login to your PayPal account and cancel the payment from there.
  • Memberships are for a minimum of 12 months – members paying monthly must complete a full 12 months before cancelling their payment.  If a payment schedule is cancelled the balance left up to the 12 months is then due.
  • Members may not claim to have achieved any level of qualification from The NPS without a certificate of qualification having been awarded.
  • Membership may not be claimed by an individual on any personal website if they are an employee of a studio who has joined under a studio membership plan.
  • Members must at all times act with honesty, integrity and respect both towards their clients, the general public, other members and suppliers.
  • Members must not at anytime claim to be acting on behalf of The NPS without prior written permission from an authority member of The NPS.
  • Members must not share any discount, offer or service provided as part of their membership with any other person who is not a member of The NPS and should a member leave The NPS they must not use or attempt to use any discount or privilege accorded to them as a member benefit.
  • Members should understand that discounts, benefits and priviledges do not form part of the core membership of the society but are ancillary services provided ‘as is’ and may be changed, withdrawn or altered at any time.
  • Members who take advantage of our free websites or website hosting must display the NPS logo on their website.
  • Members must not by their word, deed or action cause the name of The NPS to be bought into disrepute.
  • Members should ensure that their personal details remain up to date with The NPS central records and The NPS website.  The NPS will on request update the website for a member on their behalf.
  • Members should ensure that at all times they act in accordance with the law, for example compliance with the Data Protection Act.
  • Members should constantly seek to improve their standard of work through continuous professional development. (The NPS will always seek to provide advice and mentoring for any member requiring assistance.)
