First seen on the company’s lens road-map, the Nikkor Z 14-30mm f/4 is designed to be used with the Nikon Z mirrorless cameras and it’s the world’s first full-frame ultra-wide-angle lens to feature a flat front element. The lens is also compact, features a retractable lens mechanism, is weather sealed and it fits 82mm filters.
Nikon says that the new Nikkor Z optical formulas and fast communication between lens and camera ensure the distortion common to wide-angle photography is minimised. They also promise that sharpness will be ‘exceptional’.
The Nikkor Z 14-30mm f/4 lens will be available from April 2019 with an RRP of £1349.
